Wow, I've really neglected my account here. I've been extremely busy with my various publishers and clients and haven't really had much time for the fun stuff here. I'm still busy actually, but taking a breather.
I'll try to rectify neglecting this page and get some new art uploaded soon. In the meantime, I've added a new section to my da page called "Freelancer". In this section I'll post links to
various sites which have helped me along during my career, sites I enjoy or frequent, or sites which freelance artist or photographers may find of use. I'll try to update
this section at least bi-monthly.

In other news
I have 3 sets of series going at the moment in addition to my regular commission work and my private project work on my Sorche fantasy novel (call me a glutton for punishment :P )
My Phoenix series, Collaborators series, and the Silver Screen Legends series. You can find out more about the series pieces at the following link: [link]

I'm excited about the artwork I've done for my clients Wahoo Studios for their MMORTS game "SAGA" and may post a few pieces here at a later date. If you're a gamer you should check the game out at:

www.playsaga.com

Deviant Artists - To those of you who have visited my page, watched me, and/or faved my pieces, I want to sincerely thank you all. I may not always have time to individually respond to your wonderful words of encouragement and/or requests, but I do read them all and I do attempt to answer them.

But if I donot, please know that you all are important and that I do enjoy reading your input and thoughts. And I thank you all for taking the time to view my works. Thank you, DA.

Resources and links for the serious artist

Featured Site

Get Paid To Draw is an invaluable site for the beginning and intermediate professional artist or photographer alike.
I became affiliated with them after a friend suggested that I check them out and I have nothing, but praise for the great
job and wealth of information they provide for the work at home artists. Would you like to:

+ Make money every time your art is downloaded?
+ Get paid from multiple streams of daily income?
+ Recieve huge notoriety as an artist?
+ Keep your copyrights?
+ Have fun while making your money as an artist?
+ Use your cellphone or camera as an profit tool?
+ Quit your job and make your own hours?
+ Get paid residual income from every photo you submit?
+ Buy a nice home and car and retire early?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, then why are you still reading? You should get your rear on over to
their site, check out the info, and put what they know to work for you. The banner above is my referral link which will take you to the site and let them know that I personally sent you. So click it. Go on! Get! :P

:bulletred:update
I've received quite enough notes regarding info about the site that I felt an faq section is warranted.

Q: What is the benefit of joining this site?
A: If you're a beginning artist or photographer with limited or no marketable art skills you will be guided on how to improve your skills via lessons.

If you are a intermediate artist or photographer with basic skills, but little or no marketing knowledge, you will be given the where and how on which path to market your talent.

If you are a professional artist or photographer, the site is useful in helping you find leads to freelance work or employment with companies.

Q: It cost $34.95 to get this program. You've joined this site, is it worth it? I mean, does the site really deliver?
A: I wouldn't be affiliated with them if it didn't. I use it in addition to doing my regular freelance work and find that it is well worth (many times over I might add) the $34.95 investment.

If you're serious about marketing your art or photography skills, working from home, or making damn good money in general, then it's a no brainer that you need to at least look into this opportunity.

Q: What all does the site offer?
A: It's best to just click the banner link and find out yourself, but I joined because I wanted to find out how I could get paid everytime someone downloaded my art for use. There are alot of ways to do that and many places as well. The site touches on a few different fields, markets, and avenues of marketing yourself and/or your art. Best just to see which one works best for you.

Q: Is this site just for Americans? Who can join?
A: Anyone can use this program. It doesn't matter where you live. Everything is explained in english, however. So obviously, you must know how to read and understand english.

Q: So I have to pay to join this site?
A: This is actually an instructional course which helps the artist and that is what you are paying for. The $34.95 has a 56 day money back guarantee, by the way. Can't beat that.

I received my copy of "Exotique 2" from Ballistic Publishing! I was quite proud to see my art posted in there among such talented artists. And I mean REALLY talented. I was amazed and humbled as I looked through the book and seen the impressive images which poured from the pages :O_o:

I'll be the first to admit that I am very confident in my talent and skills, but looking at some of the other pieces really gave me another level to aspire too. If any of you fantasy artists and/or lovers of fantasy art haven't purchased this book yet, I strongly suggest that you do so . You will not be disappointed. The art is phenomenal! Life Is Good

Journal Entry: Tue Aug 8, 2006, 12:30 AM

Happy Birthday, DA! I like the new look! :D

I have absolutely nothing to bitch or complain about! Which is shocking because so much has changed in my life and I've never been a big fan of change despite it's neccesity. I'm absolutely numb to everything now. Love used to be a big priority, but now my mindset is that if it happens then it happens, I no longer seek it. Right now I'm having fun breaking my four year celibacy stint, focusing on my artwork and career, and meeting new friends. My schedule is still pretty hectic, but I'll try to stop by here whenever I can. :)

Brianne Gets Married

Love is a beautiful thing and as elusive as it is for me I always rejoice when those I call friends find it and hold onto it with a grasp as strong as God's embrace itself. My friend Brianne has such a love and I want to wish her the best in her new life with David. Couldn't happen to a better person, Brie.

*brianne333 is now accepting commissions to cover the remaining costs of her wedding so do yourself a favor and get one while there is still time, okay?

Life Goes On

Journal Entry: Sat Jul 1, 2006, 3:14 PM

Mood: Naughty Promiscuous
Watching: Pirates of the Caribbean: DMC

I once read that regardless of how much we know, it is never enough. I've learned alot in my 37 years on this spinning globe. About life, love, and other remarkable constants and with each passing day I experience even more growth and opportunities. The past two months have been eventful, with both gains and losses. Career wise I've gained, finished 3 more book covers
for clients and murmurings of a possible calender featuring my Sorche characters have been suggested. Also have a deal with another client in which I will receive royalties in addition to payment for art services rendered.

Love wise I've lost and gained. One door closed and another opened, I stand here in the hallway wondering if I should knock on either door and take one more chance at trusting in love or instead being content with my old lifestyle of sex and contentment over love and commitment. At any rate, life goes on and while I don't know how this chapter will play out, it will have to write itself because I'm leaving it in fate's hands now.

Inspiration wise I've definitely gained. I have a whole slew of scenes that I'm crafting for my Sorche novel and thanks to the Wacom tablet I won from *drakhenliche I will be able to churn them out more efficiently and
better! :boogie: btw, thanks to everyone who wished me good luck in that contest. Good luck wishes always help

Supreme Sacrifice

Journal Entry: Thu Jun 1, 2006, 10:30 AM

Mood: Hopeful Hopeful
Listening to: The Answer Is Yes by Javier
Reading: Live and Learn and Pass It On

I was walking along a beaten trail today just lost in the beauty of the day. The sun was shining, a pleasant breeze blowing, birds singing, and bees buzzing. A beautiful day for walking and contemplating life's ironies. And as I did, I came across a field with what appeared to be thousands upon thousands of people all dressed in black, as if they were having a funeral service.

Curious, I began walking toward the field and it's large gathering and as I got closer I noticed that these poor souls were indeed mourning a loss. There were people of all nationalities, races, and ages. Some weeping uncontrollably, while others stared blank and devoid of emotion, perhaps too shocked. Anxious to see who could have garnered such respect from so many, I gently waded my way through the sea of the thousands of mourners and finally made it to the front after what seemed like an hour.

I saw a figure cloaked in a hooded azure robe with strange emblems embroidered upon it's silken trim. I did not recognize the emblems or their symbolism, but I surmised that this person was someone of great importance. The cloaked figure was turned slightly to the left with the drape of the robe covering the body and it's large hood hiding the face so that I could not determine if it was a male or female. My attention turned from the mysterious figure and gazed upon the ornate gold coffin to the left of the figure.
I slowly approached the figure, who seemed to be standing motionless and gazing intently at the coffin.

I took a quick glance behind me at the crowd and noticed that oddly not one of them seemed to be facing the coffin. Instead they were all turned away with their backs to it. Strange I thought, especially for a funeral service. Now I was even more curious. I continued to approach the stranger in the robe who seemed to be awaking from the almost trance like gazing at the coffin moments ago. In a gracefully swift and fluidic motion, the figure pulled the cloak's hood and let it drape down the back revealing at last a serene and stoic man with a clean shaven face, light grey eyes, and sandy blonde curly hair.

"Are you lost, young man?"

This man looked young, but spoke with the voice of someone who's age defied his youthful appearance. "Uh, no I'm not really lost. I was just curious what was going on. May I ask who the deceased is?".

The man looked at the coffin again, but this time I could see the great sadness displayed in his stare. "This holds one who has many names and faces. Revered by all and sometimes feared. Many call this one Supreme Sacrifice."

He stares at the coffin a bit longer before turning his eyes to the crowd and again the sadness floods over his face as he stares at them with their backs towards him.

"Jesus?!", I shouted. "You have the body of Christ here?!" I asked the question, but in reality all I wanted to do was run because I thought I had stumbled across a group of some weird sect.

"No, young man. Christ gave the ultimate sacrifice and because of it we all are able to experience the presence of Supreme Sacrifice ".

He pointed to the crowd and went on to say that each of them had their lives touched by this Supreme Sacrifice in one way or another. Confused I asked him, "Why then do they not face forward? If this Supreme Sacrifice has touched them so profoundly, wouldn't it be more respectful to face the coffin and mourn the loss rather than turn their backs as if to shun his memory?"

"The Supreme Sacrifice is not a person, young man. It is Love. Once you are touched by it you are never the same. And once you turn your back on it, it dies."

Darry Taylor

The moral of this story is simple, love touches every aspect of all our lives and in many degrees. It can tear you down with the same amount of intensity as it uses to place you on top of the world. But if you fear it loneliness becomes your constant companion. And if you turn your back on it completely, it dies. Love fully and completely without fear or regrets.

Old Man Rising :excited:
My birthday is in 2 more days! Been going through some issues this past month, but for the first time in my adult life I am actually looking forward to celebrating this getting old nonsense. lol! Lots of whispering behind my back may have a little to do with it though. Surprise party maybe? :fingerscrossed:
